The unfair advantage in NY Workers' Compensation practice.
SLU permanency checking, radiculopathy chart, fee app equations, AWW with all four statutory methods, and the Pro Workspace. Everything the hearing room actually needs — done right, done fast, cited to the WCL section behind every number.
Three ways to work — one synced practice.
Calculate at the hearing, build the case on the canvas, and let AI skills handle the repetitive drafting — all from one Comp Desk account.
Pro Workspace
Every calculator on one drag-and-drop canvas, with case save & sync across your devices.
iOS App
The hearing-room workhorse — the full calculator suite and your saved cases, in your pocket.
Skills Marketplace
Installable AI skills that automate WC practice work — case history, summations, hearing prep — inside Claude.
Built by a workers' comp attorney. For workers' comp attorneys.
I'm Joel Mays, a NYS Workers' Compensation attorney at Shulman & Hill, PLLC. The Comp Desk started in the hearing room — AWW calculations on scrap paper, SLU percentages from memory, fee equations scribbled by hand. I built the tools the room was missing, then refined every one of them because the cases I was preparing couldn't tolerate "close enough."
Twelve calculators that pay for themselves the first time you use them.
Every calculator cites the underlying WCL section, IME guideline, or Board rule it implements — so the number you see has a defense.
Average Weekly Wage
All four statutory methods under WCL §14. Multi-employer, concurrent, and seasonal scenarios.
Schedule Loss of Use
Permanency checker for every body part with IME / treating physician comparison.
Radiculopathy
2012 Impairment Guidelines point system §S11.4–S11.7. Cited on every result.
Loss of Wage-Earning Capacity
Functional limitation × vocational factors with the Board's matrix logic.
CCP / Award Builder
Classified PPD/PTD with cap-week tracking, REIMB ER, HIA, NCLT/NME designations.
Spine & Brain
Non-schedule permanency with the Board's severity-class scoring built in.
Rate Lookup
Maximum compensation rates by date of injury, 1985 through present.
Fee App Equation
OC-400.1 fee equation generator with built-in CCP, SLU, LWEC, and Section 32 branches.
Section 32 Settlement
Settlement modeling with Medicare set-aside considerations and net-to-claimant math.
Temporary Reduced
TR rate as a percentage of TT, with the per-period $/% toggle and Manual Rate fallback.
Temporary Partial
TP rate calc with the same per-period $/% toggle as TR. Mirrors the in-app workspace.
UTDM Tracker
Unreasonable Term and Duration of Medical lookups with built-in MTG citation.
The features attorneys actually use.
Every feature exists because a real case needed it the day before. No marketing fluff, no demo-only tools.
Cited on every result
Every number shows the WCL section, IME guideline, or Board rule it implements. The output is defensible without explaining where it came from.
IME vs Treating side-by-side
SLU and radiculopathy let you enter both opinions and see the spread. Negotiate the middle with the math already on screen.
Case save & sync
Pro Workspace saves your case state across devices. Pull it up on the courthouse iPad, finish on the office desktop. iOS + web.
OC-400.1 fee app prefill
Generate a filled OC-400.1 fee application directly from the CCP/Award Builder. Equation, periods, and fee reasons all flow through.
Keyboard-first input
Tab through every field. No mouse needed during a hearing. Designed for fast entry while you're listening to the WCLJ.
Litify / Salesforce export
Firm tier exports calculator output and case data to your CMS. Built on the assumption your firm already lives in Litify.
Two tiers. No surprises.
14-day free trial on Pro. Annual billing available with two months free.

The questions attorneys ask before they switch.
Will this replace my existing Litify workflow?
No. The Comp Desk Pro lives alongside Litify, not instead of it. Firm tier exports calculator results, periods, fee equations, and case data to Litify so the work you do here flows into the system of record. Many attorneys keep both open during a hearing.
How is this different from doing the math in Excel?
Three things: cited results (every output shows the WCL section it implements), correctness updates (statutory caps, IME guideline revisions, and rate-table changes are maintained in one place), and integration (the calculator output flows directly into the OC-400.1 fee application and the Pro Workspace case file). Excel doesn't update when the Board changes a rule.
Is the Firm tier worth $99/month over three Pro seats?
If you have three or more attorneys, yes — Firm is the same per-seat math as three Pro seats but includes Litify/Salesforce integration, case data export, unlimited seats, and priority support. The integration is what most firms switch for.
Can I trust the SLU and LWEC math in a hearing?
Yes. Every calculator is built and maintained by Joel Mays, Esq. — a practicing NYS WC attorney at Shulman & Hill — and used in real cases daily before it ships to the rest of the platform. Every result cites the WCL section, IME guideline, or Board rule behind it so you can defend the number on the record.
What does the 14-day free trial include?
Everything in Pro: all 12 calculators, the Pro Workspace with case save/sync, OC-400.1 fee application generation, and iOS + web access. No credit card required to start. Cancel inside the trial and you pay nothing.
What about claimants? Can I send them here?
Yes. The free calculators (AWW, Rate Lookup, plus all 7 on the public calculator index) are free for anyone. Workers can also use Comp Buddy on iOS to find a doctor, get IME reminders, and learn their rights. The free worker-side experience is at /worker.
